Self Defence

If I've got any sense, I'll just follow the road of Tao,
and my only fear will be of getting sidetracked.
The road is easy enough to follow,
but people wander off everywhere...

Leaders live in big houses,
while the fields are full of weeds.
The granaries are empty,
while the rich wear the latest fashion.
People carry weapons and drink to excess.
Their riches are stolen from the poor.
They are arrogant thieves.

This is certainly not Tao!

(Lao Tzu)
