Self Defence

Thirty spokes converge in a single hub;
It is the centre hole
that allows the wheel to turn.

A bowl is shaped from clay;
but its usefulness
comes from the space within.

Doors and windows
are openings in walls.

And a room can only be used
because it contains emptiness.

Therefore,
What is
is made useful
By what is not.

(Lao Tzu)
