To put it into practice, don't try to force it.
(Lao Tzu)
Women & men working together
Taoist sexual methods emphasised the
harmony of men and women during sex.
As well as withholding ejaculation, a man was expected to be much more sensitive
to the physical needs of his partner.
Pelvic work
The taoists found that women could enhance their sexual
performance by training the pelvic muscles to become stronger.
There are many methods for doing this; some are similar to conventional
exercises whilst others involve the use of a jade egg as a practice tool.
Even today, there are classes held around the world teaching these techniques.
Exploring one another
Sexual taoism considered conventional standards of
morality between adults to be constraining.
Cultures, societies and communities have a lot of rules
that have no bearing in the bedroom.
Providing both adults consented, an attitude of sexual curiosity and
discovery was advocated.
Two people with privacy are free to examine the physicality of sex in
immense detail.
Positions and postures offer different sensations, degrees of
penetration and a variety of pleasures.
By examining every fantasy and insight, the joining of two people can
become a journey of self discovery and true learning.
Learning does not come about through reading or listening to another, it
is raw and immediate.

Taoism does not offer a syllabus, it encourages you
to develop your own.
The pleasures enjoyed by every particular couple are unique to that relationship
and no two joinings should be quite the same.
Abstinence
Some schools of taoism preferred abstinence to
indulgence, and encouraged people to refrain from sexual activity.
This approach seems quite contrary to the naturalness of taoism.
