Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
(Coach Carter, adapted from ‘A Return to Love’ by Marianne Williamson)
Emotion
Passion is a condition of focussed
creativity.
Channelling emotion into a positive action can imbue the activity with a
vigour that would otherwise be lacking.
A life without passion is a half-life.
Apathy
The world is filled with disillusioned people whose lives lacked meaning.
Apathy and unhappiness is
very common in modern society; where people turn to drink and drugs for
solace.

The spark
A passionate person has imagination and drive.
They exude a sense of purpose.
Passion does not require a strong,
enthusiastic devotion to a cause, ideal, or goal - passion is not localised to
one specific thing.
It is how you are and how you approach all aspects of life.
Alive
Do not mistake passion for zeal - passion is not obsession - being
manic or compulsive has nothing to do with passion at all.
In tai chi, your passion creates a condition known as 'shen';
where your entire being becomes one with the
moment.
Combining mind, body and emotion, you are in a condition of
meditation; acutely
alive and
alert.
Imagination
To have passion, you must have imagination.
The two are indivisible.
Being passionate is not about sentimentality or emotionalism; it is about seeing
to the heart of things and being driven to unexpected discovery and insight.
Love
Love is not
specific to any one
person.
You love your parents, your children, your friends, your dog, husband or wife,
and you may even love those who do not love you.
Passion involves the abandonment of self, the shedding of conditioning and
belief.
To love without prejudice or
attachment, to
care without expectation of reward - this is passion.
Sex
The act of
procreation has nothing to do with passion.
Passion is the
how,
the way of your actions, rather than the actions themselves.
It is the spirit of your activity,
not the physicality.
