Let your practice be short and intense, focussing your attention one one
single action, where body and brain meet at the same point at the same time.

Naan
Naan bread can be bought from the local shop or
supermarket but making your own is more rewarding and tasty.
Ingredients
The ingredients are fairly easy to obtain:
1 teaspoon fresh or dried yeast
4 tablespoons warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
500g plain flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ pint of milk
150g natural yoghurt
1 egg
25g butter
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
Step 1
Place yeast in bowl of warm water. Leave it to soften, then stir to
dissolve. Add sugar and leave for abut 10 minutes (until frothy).
Step 2
Heat milk until lukewarm. Add yoghurt, yeast, egg and melted
butter.
Step 3
Make a hole in flour and pour in milk mixture. Mix thoroughly until you have
smooth dough.
Kneed dough for about 10 minutes - until springy.
Cover bowl with cling film and leave it in warm place until dough doubles in
size. Push finger into dough and it should leave an impression. (This make take
over an hour).
Step 4
Preheat oven (gas mark 8) with two baking trays.
Divide dough into 8 teardrop shapes. Toss dough from hand to hand, gently
pulling it. Keep centre thinner than outside.
Brush teardrops with egg yolk and sprinkle poppy seeds.
Lightly grease baking trays and bake naans until golden and puffed.
