Self Defence

Pleasure exhausts itself in the enjoying, just like a candle that burns down and disappears.

(Matthieu Ricard)

Breath

Synchronising your breathing with that of your partner can lead to a more satisfying experience.
You both slow down and become grounded in the moment.

There is a greater sense of intimacy and sharing.

Breath is a tool frequently used to encourage a condition of meditation; so this is particularly useful in sex, where the entire point is to lose yourself in the immediacy of the moment.

Together

The simplest way to join your breath together is for the man to lay behind the woman, with their bodies tightly pressed together.
With his arms around the woman, the man feels her breathing pattern.
The woman must allow her breathing to naturally slow as her body relaxes.

As the moments pass, their breathing will become one.

Apart

A more unusual method is to sit apart, but facing.
The man places his right hand on the woman's heart and she covers his hand with her left.
The woman places her right hand on the man's heart and he covers her hand with his left.

Then the couple must look into one another's eyes.

If you are awkward with yourself or uncomfortable with your partner, this method will not work.
